VuelosClaim is an independent project based in Valencia, Spain, that explains air passenger rights in plain language and calculates what you're owed. We are not an airline or a law firm.

How we calculate

We apply Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 and, for flights departing the UK, its UK version (UK261). We measure the great-circle distance between airports using OurAirports data and apply the €250, €400 and €600 tiers (£220, £350 and £520), the 50% reduction for flights over 3,500 km delayed 3 to 4 hours, the cancellation notice periods and EU Court of Justice case law on delays (Sturgeon) and airline staff strikes.
